And so it begins...
A project that I have always wanted to delve into and is close to my heart. I wanted to learn more about the US space program, how it all began and understand who was a part of it for each U.S. launch. I chose the overall theme as the mission patch and the astronauts involved in that mission. This not only would help me as a guide to remember missions and names but also facts I learned along the way.
I also get a chance to practice new skills in photoshop and illustrator. The composited graphics of each mission are of my creation and any extras are things I have found in my research. This is my own personal project and is for information only. Each mission is way more detailed than I can ever begin to tackle, but each entry will help those who decide to follow my journey, learn a little about where we are in our Space Program. With that I give you:
THE LAUNCH PROJECT!
Our journey begins with a portion of the speech President John F. Kennedy gave at Rice University on September 12, 1962. He of course would lose his life a year later but he saw the possibility of reaching a goal of the moon. This speech is famous and lays the groundwork for what NASA needed to do and started the United States on the path to the moon and beyond.
